Azure Cloud Engineer / IT Security Officer (USA)

As a Azure Cloud Engineer at Dynamicweb North America, you will take the lead role to oversee and carry out the system administration, provisioning, and hosting of scalable Ecommerce solutions on the Azure platform. You will partner with the Project Managers, Solutions Architects, Developers, and Integration team to support innovative and high-quality hosted solutions. Your day to day will involve supporting our Azure hosting cloud by provisioning and supporting Windows Server, Azure and SQL Database servers, IIS, web farms, DNS, monitoring, and SSL certificates. You will also support the install and upgrades of the Dynamicweb platform for our team and customers. Additionally, this same position includes the role of IT Security Officer; to review, plan, implement, and maintain the security policies within the organization. The primary focus is on hosted systems, but this role includes security policies of all connected workstations and devices.

Responsibilities - Azure Cloud Engineer

  • Provisioning Azure VM's, Azure Databases, and SQL Server
  • Supporting the Dynamicweb hosted cloud services
  • Maintaining all things Azure
  • Tier 4 assistance for the support desk for hosting and SysAdmin related work
  • Supporting Dynamicweb platform upgrades (Windows, IIS, SQL Server)
  • Some .NET administration (DLLs) during upgrades
  • DNS, SSL, SMTP
  • Advanced troubleshooting of hosting related incidents
  • Build and maintain knowledge of the Dynamicweb platform
  • On-call one week per month; off-hours and weekend. 0-to-low alerts

  • Develop, implement, and maintain best practice policies to promote security and high availability of system.
  • Audit compliance and report non-compliance
  • Promote company standards and best practices
  • Provide training and awareness

Experience and Skills

  • Ability as a quick learner in a wide-ranging field
  • Extensive SysAdmin experience - minimum of 5 years
  • Microsoft Azure or AWS experience
  • Microsoft web technology stack for hosting
  • IIS, SQL Server, DNS, SMTP, SSL/TLS
  • PowerShell experience a plus
  • Ability to pull energy from and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Manages self and stays motivated and productive while working remote in the absence of direct supervision

Work Environment

  • Work is typically performed in employee’s home office
  • Travel - up to 5%, typically for team events or conferences
  • Service clients across North America with a vast network of international partners that span multiple time zones.
